What is Invisalign? 


Invisalign uses a series of transparent, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you're wearing so you can smile more during treatment and beyond. Invisalign is made with 3-D computer imaging technology and has been proven very effective in creating beautiful, confident smiles.  Our practice is also proud to announce that we provide Invisalign Teen treatment as an esthetic treatment option for our adolescent patients!


Why would I want Invisalign?

Not only are the aligners transparent, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing methods are exactly the same because you simply remove your aligners to brush and floss. The aligners are comfortable and cause very little irritation during treatment.



How does it work?


You wear each set of upper and lower aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will continue to move into the proper position.  Treatment length depends on the number of aligners prescribed and can vary depending on the severity of the bite and extent of tooth movement required.  During your Invisalign treatment, you will visit Stewart and Labbe Orthodontics approximately every 6-8 weeks for regular adjustments.

In our efforts to offer the most advanced treatment to our patients, Stewart & Labbe Orthodontics is proud to announce our newest product, Invisalign Teen! This is an advanced and unique orthodontic treatment option designed specifically for teens and is AVAILABLE NOW! 

Invisalign Teen is a new product that can straighten your teen’s teeth without the hassle of traditional braces. Invisalign Teen is specially designed to address key teen issues of compliance, eruption control and root torque. If you are not familiar with any of these terms, we would be happy to talk to you about them and their importance for teen orthodontic treatment.

Frequently asked questions:
Q: How will I know how often my teen is wearing their Invisalign Teen aligners?
A: The compliance indicators located on the upper aligner can estimate the approximate amount of time your teen spends wearing the product. The indicators are designed to fade from blue to clear as a gauge of approximate wear time, so you can ensure your teen’s compliance easily…and they can prove it!

Q: What happens if my teen does not wear the aligners for the recommended amount of time?
A: Invisalign Teen is most effective when worn per your doctor’s recommendation. Overall, we find that the appropriate amount of time for the aligners to be worn is between 20 – 22 hours per day and removed ONLY for eating, brushing and flossing. However, it is not detrimental to the alignment process if your teen goes without wearing aligners for short periods of time once in a while.

Q: What happens if my child loses one or both of their aligners?
A: In the event that an aligner is lost or broken, your teen should inform Stewart & Labbe Orthodontics right away. We will probably tell them to start wearing their last set or next set of aligners immediately. We will then order your teen a new set of aligners to replace the ones that were lost. In most cases the replacement aligners should arrive in a few days.

Q: If my teen is 18 years old, do they use Invisalign or Invisalign Teen?
A: That is something that one of our orthodontic specialists can determine during a New Patient Consultation. Although your teen may be a suitable candidate for the traditional Invisalign product, they may benefit from some of the new features that Invisalign Teen offers.

Q: Is Invisalign Teen as effective as traditional braces?
A: In the hands of an experienced orthodontic specialist and when worn per your doctor’s recommendation, Invisalign Teen can be as effective as traditional braces for many types of treatment.

Q: Is it easy to keep your teeth clean with Invisalign Teen?
A: Yes! Invisalign Teen allows your teen to remove the aligners for eating or brushing their teeth. Therefore, it is much easier to maintain proper oral hygiene with Invisalign Teen than it is with traditional metal braces. Best of all, food will not get caught on any fixed brackets and wires, since Invisalign Teen is removable and wire-free!

Q: What are some other advantages of Invisalign Teen over traditional braces?
A: In addition to keeping a clean mouth, an active lifestyle is made simpler when wearing Invisalign as opposed to the fixed wire and brackets. Since the device is removable it’s easy for your teen to play sports or an instrument.
